Finance Manager, Vehicle Finance in München

Role

The Finance Manager of EU Financial Services will be responsible for the Finance function of the European in-house leasing and financing companies in Germany and UK, which are both regulated by the local banking supervision authorities BaFin and FCA, respectively. He/she will support the steering of the business from a financial point of view and ensure that these companies adhere to all relevant group policies and regulatory requirements. The Finance Manager will report to the Director Finance EU Financial Services and will be supported by group internal and external service providers. The position will be based in Munich, but requires regular presence in Amsterdam.

Responsibilities

• Further develop and manage the financial services specific accounting & financial reporting processes and systems in close cooperation with the European Finance area, ensuring adherence to group policies and statutory requirements.
• Prepare the statutory financial statements for the German in-house leasing company according to HGB & RechKredV. Handle the statutory/regulatory audit in close co-operation with the risk manager.
• Provide tax relevant data & information to the tax dpt. and tax consultants. Review tax returns & assessments.
• Handle the regulatory reporting to BaFin & FCA.
• Support the further development of steering framework, processes and tools. Prepare and present plans, analyses and proposals.
• Further develop and handle the outsourcing management for IT and other service providers.
• Build up and maintain good relationships to relevant business partners, auditors and regulators.
• Support the set-up of the finance and risk management functions in new leasing and financing companies, which might be established in the future. Participate in relevant projects.

Requirements,

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree, preferably with major in Finance or a similar field.
• 5+ years experience in the finance dpt. of a leading commercial bank, leasing company, automotive captive, etc. or/and the financial services team of an audit firm; exposure to automotive finance preferred.
• Focus of experience in Finance and Audit; project management experience is a plus
• Excellent knowledge of accounting standards, especially HGB, RechKredV and USGAAP, as well as banking regulatory requirements). Knowledge of banking specific financial steering concepts.
• Good understanding of relevant IT applications, ideally Microsoft Dynamics AX and specialized asset finance software; solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
• Entrepreneurial self-starter with willingness to work in a start-up environment and a hands-on approach; ability to make sound business decisions quickly considering both quantitative and qualitative factors
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills
• High integrity
• Fluent in English and German
