Energy Storage Policy - Internship

The internship position

Work hard and make an impact with Tesla Policy. As an energy storage policy intern, you will directly support the policy lead. You will be responsible for monitoring positions on issues, research policy issues in Germany and Brussels, and attend association meetings in Germany and Brussels. You will support the assessment of potential government activities in Germany and communicate these back to the policy team. You will develop proposals for mitigation or enhancement strategies and positions, to support Tesla’s initiatives in other markets as required.

Your responsibilities & learnings

• Monitor challenges/obstacles our business could face as the public policy landscape in Germany evolves.

• Gain experience in researching new and existing markets; identify ongoing and future legislative undertakings in Germany and the EU for energy storage.

• Perform detailed policy analysis for the identified undertakings and create possible action points for the broader policy team.  

• Support the identification of stakeholders, analyze and maintain on an ongoing basis a review for energy storage in Germany at industry, policy and bureaucratic levels

• Perform legislative analysis for residential, commercial and industrial storage 

• Contribute to or perform ad-hoc research or studies related to energy products

The successful candidate will meet the following requirements

• A deep passion for renewable energy adoption

• An intense desire to be on leading edge of market and technology

• Sound understanding of energy storage solutions, their application and benefits

• Close to finishing a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree preferably with major in Business, Policy, Economics or a similar field.

• First work experience as intern or full time employee preferably in the policy or consulting sector (Political Party, GO, NGO or consulting firm).

• Ability to operate effectively in a very fast moving, developing and constantly changing company.

• Entrepreneurial self-starter with willingness to work in a true start-up environment.

 • Strong communication and persuasion skills along with an ability to interact with various levels of management.

• Solid working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of applications

• Strong time management, organizational skills and an attention to detail.

• Possess drive, enthusiasm and a genuine interest and curiosity in the business.

• Creative and thoughtful problem solver who is open to new ideas and approaches.

• Strong command of English and German native speaker is a must
