What we do?
We develop smart solutions for our B2B partners in multiple industries to help them better understand their customers and improve their propositions and operations. Our focus industries encompass e.g. media/advertising, retail, transportation, OEM`s or smart cities. We also work with our partners to innovate their propositions, e.g leveraging new sensor technologies in the IoT space.

To drive the development of our data analytics products, we are currently seeking a motivated Junior Data Scientist (m/w) to join the team.

In short, your responsibilities will include: 

• Support pre-sales activities and delivery management of insights based on our core competencies. Example: Planning and delivery of transport planning projects. Other industries: retail, insurance, banking, out-of-home media.
• Translate commercial requirements into analytical requirements. Align with sales and product.
• Implement customer projects on-site, e.g. trials with beacons, wifi nodes, network infrastructure. Collect ground truth data.
• Leverage visualization tools and techniques to increase acceptance and understanding at the customer.
• Contribute in the areas of data sourcing, quality management, monitoring, and special projects
• Co-create processes, interfaces, and business models connected to existing or new data sources and analytics services.
• Align with internal stakeholders (BI, IT, legal, comms, finance, etc.) and external stakeholders (data protection authorities, certification bodies, etc.).
• Share best practices in the team and across the Telefónica group.

The key skills we're looking for:  

• Strong bachelor degree in computer science, engineering, business mathematics, statistics, geography, or similar. Master’s degree/PhD is a plus.
• Some experience in data analytics, data science, geo-spatial data.
• Some experience in setting up & working with big data infrastructure
• SQL knowledge (preferably big data context). Experience with Tableau or similar tools.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail. Willingness to get your head around network infrastructure, real-time-bidding, and other ecosystems.
• Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word.
• Fluent English obligatory. Fluent German a plus.
• Nice-to-have:
• Experience with Hadoop, Hive, Flink, AI, machine learning, cryptography
