Who we are?
We are Telefónica / o2 - with our mobile brands we connect millions of people and offer our customers mobile freedom in the digital world. As a leading telecommunications provider, we are also playing a key role in shaping digitisation in Germany. Our fixed and mobile networks form the backbone for the digital transformation of the economy and society. And our approximately 8,500 employees in Germany drive the transformation forward every day - in our own company as well.
Telefónica is one of the top employers in Germany and is part of the global telecommunications group Telefónica S.A. with 130,000 committed employees worldwide.
Lead a key activity in Telefónica’s current transformation program RAITT.
Within Telefónica Germany’s ongoing RAITT (Radical Architecture IT Transformation) program, we are replacing multiple Mass Market B2C and B2P systems for PrePaid and PostPaid customers.
You will lead the team effort to migrate the data of the existing customers form the legacy to the target systems.
The migration of customer data is combined with a simplification of the legacy product catalogue as well as a consolidation of our multiple current brands into fewer offers and target brands.
What are your challenges with us?
- Coordinate the various teams involved with migration and track the migration progress through relevant KPIs
- Follow the product simplification and brand consolidation (delivery milestone 31/01) strategy, make sure the results are considered by the product catalogue team, channel questions and facilitate eventual trade-offs
- Plan and manage the ongoing activities of legacy data analysis, cleansing and extraction. There is an existing TechM team, their progress needs to be monitored and data quality/readiness KPIs need to be tracked/communicated to the RAITT program management
- Other than TechM, there are multiple others vendors involved, including SalesForce, Hansen, Compax and Matrixx. Vendor management with regards to data migration is required
- Plan, track, and if necessary, facilitate, the ongoing work on data modeling in the target systems: Customer Information Management (CIM), Product Inventory (PI), Order Management (OM), Mass Market Billing, Convergent Charging System (CCS) – plus some additional auxiliary systems
- The relevant systems stretch out over the customer channels, BSS and OSS domain, the number of teams related to migration is accordingly high and require a good oversight capability
- Making sure all components of the overall Integrated Data Model (IDM) are up to date and available for the data migration team for data mapping purposes
- Overview Non-Functional Requirements (NFR) gathering and monitor if performance targets are being reached
- There will be a tooling strategy for migration, this strategy needs to be followed and communicated by the Data Migration Lead
- Plan data testing and quality activities, follow-up and report progress. Data quality requires business inputs, organizing the availability of the relevant business representatives is part of the role
- Facilitate and support infrastructure needs for testing and execution of data migration
- Communicate progress, need for inputs and most importantly execution dates of migration to the relevant teams in customer service and within Telefónica’s partners
- Inside each brand migration happens in sub-units of brand data and the overall migration sequenced by the various brands of Telefónica. During this sequence, there will be double stack operation of the legacy and target systems. The Data Migration Lead will follow data related issues and facilitate their resolution during this critical period. There should be no visible customer impacts “silent migration”
- Document learnings from each migration step and make them available for further development of the migration methodology used
- Follow, document and report eventual post-migration activities and necessary data corrections in the target systems
- During the various phases of migration : track resource usage, ideally pro-active management of bottlenecks
- Supporting the team in organizing tasks such as setting up on-call duty during migration runs
- Presenting the progress and relevant KPIs at executive level
What do you bring with you?
- Completed university studies or comparable in the field of computer science, communication technology or similar
