BA Markets is now looking for the right person to fill the position as (Junior) Asset Optimisation Analyst – Data Acquisition

In this position you will have the opportunities to make an impact to our digital transformation activities, while learning first-hand about the energy transition and deepen your analytical knowledge.

Your main tasks and responsibilities as Asset Optimisation Analyst:

• You will be part of a team working on the automatisation of our IT processes.
• You will support us in onboarding of renewable and small-scale assets, such as batteries or hybrid renewable parks in our tool landscape.
• Based on feedback from content matter experts and users, you will support us in the further development of our IT systems at the interface between the optimisation model framework and the SCADA system.

Our ideal Asset Optimisation Analyst has the following qualifications and capabilities:

• You are a quick learner with a structured mindset, a good communicator and willing to share creative ideas
• Strong analytical skills, preferably with background in optimization methods and/or process automation
• You have a good working knowledge of development in Python and a strong grip of analytical methods
• University degree (engineering, economics, science) or comparable professional education with additional qualification
• Prior knowledge of the energy market is a plus

Business Area (BA) Markets maximises the value of Vattenfall’s portfolio by optimising and dis-patching, hedging and sourcing for Vattenfall’s assets and sales positions. We offer power purchase agree¬ments to operators of wind or solar parks, optimise 3rd party batteries and enter into origination deals within the B2B segment. We serve as Vattenfall’s single market access to energy commodity markets trading in electricity, emissions, fuels, freight, and renewable certificates. We are responsible for generating profits by taking positions within defined risk mandates and limits. We are active across Europe with more than 450 professionals working from Sweden, Germany, The Netherlands, and Denmark.

Within BA Markets the Business Unit (BU) Assets maximise the value of all Vattenfall assets through optimal planning, bidding and dispatching of power plant capacities. In addition, we are responsible for the development and execution of an appropriate hedge strategy of the overall exposure of Vattenfall.

To support the ongoing transformation of the Vattenfall portfolio as well as the shifts of the energy system, our focus lies on increasing efficiency, driving the adoption of advanced analytics and automation and developing our capabilities to enable the optimization and steering of new, decentral, energy systems.
