Aufgaben
- Create something new: You develop a 3D thermal-flow-electrochemical coupled simulation to enable fast prediction of battery pack thermal runaway propagation (TRP) behavior and allow rapid evaluation of new battery pack designs. Furthermore you develop cell and pack electrical network models.
- Help shape the future: You are responsible for the model calibration based on abuse experiments and simulate conjugate heat transfer and derive temperature increase of neighbouring cells (previous work available). You enable highest battery safety and help to shape the future of electric mobility.
- Take responsibility: You simulate flow of hot gases and/or combustion reaction during thermal runaway (previous work available) and predict thermal runaway response with different battery designs/materials etc.
- Structured observation: You are responsible for the experimental characterization of thermal abuse conditions. This includes chemistry, thermal, electrical, & flow behavior of single cells. You then identify further influencing parameters of thermal runaway propagation and characterization thereof.
- Experience cooperation: You setup an inhouse abuse laboratory (2023 et seqq) and cooperate with external testing facilities.
- Think holistically: You create a wholistic process-understanding to apply model to different battery pack designs.
Profil
- Personality: innovative, motivated, communicative, curious, and hands-on spirit
- Working Practice: structured, result-oriented, creative, and independent in designing and executing experiments
- Experience and Knowledge: first experience with simulation tools required (e.g. AnSys, Simulink, Fluent, Converge), experience with Li-ion cells preferred
- Languages: fluent written and spoken German and English
- Education: completed Masters degree in Chemistry, Physics or equivalent with excellent grades
