ABOUT THE TEAM

The GS Human Language Technology (HLT) Team develops and operates various components related to machine translation and evaluation of machine translation quality.

We are looking for a highly motivated working student for implementation tasks related to Python Web development, Java development and operations related tasks with Docker and Kubernetes.

You’ll be working as part of the development team and work on well-defined sub projects.
 

THE ROLE

• Developing new features in a Python/Django Web Application for translation quality evaluation
• Developing components related to a Java based machine translation system
• Work with CI/CD tools and create automated tests including web UI tests (Selenium)
• Work with Docker and Kubernetes to create repeatable deployments
   

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

• Student (f/m/d) at a university or a university of applied sciences
• Preferred fields of study:  Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, Natural Language Processing
• Computer skills:  Python and / or Java.  Java / Python libraries and frameworks (Django, Spring) as a plus.
• Language skills: fluent in English, German as a plus
• You will be available as working student for at least 6, preferably 12 months (please include when you expect completing your studies).
   

Your set of application documents should contain a cover letter, a resume in table form, school leaving certificates, certificate of enrollment, current university transcript of records, copies of any academic degrees already earned, and if available, references from former employers (including internships). Please also describe your experience and skills in foreign languages and computer programs / programming languages.
