ABOUT THE TEAM
The SAP Cloud Platform is a Platform as a Service (PaaS) to manage and develop applications in public and private clouds. It is based on open standards, such as Cloud Foundry and runs on different Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) layers. The Business Application Foundation organization delivers the programming model foundation for SAP Cloud Platform. The “SAP Cloud Application Programming Model” (CAP) is an open and opinionated framework of languages, libraries, and tools for building enterprise-grade services and cloud native applications. It guides developers through proven best practices and a great wealth of out-of-the-box solutions to recurring tasks. More information about CAP can be found here:
As a member of the compiler team you will be working at the core of the SAP Cloud Application Programming Model. The team is responsible to implement and maintain the involved domain specific programming languages, using open-source tools like ANTLR, as well as the backend generators and semantic checks, amongst other things.

You are the right person for this role if you are enthusiastic about learning new technologies and sharing your experience with others. Your passion to code helps you to master technical complexity and dependencies to shape the future technology foundation of SAP cloud products together with your team. EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- An excellent university degree (Bachelor, Diploma, Master, PhD) in computer science or related fields like software engineering, physics, mathematics, or similar.
- Knowledge about relational databases and SQL.
- Flexible team player with good interpersonal skills.
- Good communication skills in German and English language.
- Knowledge about compiler construction or related topics.
- Experience with GIT/GITHub; CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins / Travis).
- Experience with using, operating and developing on top of cloud infrastructures and services therein, e.g. with Cloud Foundry or Kubernetes.
- Experience with Open Data Protocol (OData) / RESTful APIs.
