About the team ABAP Platform 
SAP ABAP Platform drives innovation from the heart of SAP. ABAP Platform consists of more than 600 people located around the globe. We are SAP’s technical foundation and proud that our innovations are used by over 12 million people in 120 countries.

We are currently looking to hire developers (f/m/d) for our core technology teams. You can look forward to writing code that runs in the cloud, on premise, or both. We provide SAP’s core technology platform ranging from compilers and virtual machines to higher level application services and tools. You will have the opportunity to work in small and diverse agile development teams and collaborate closely with database, operating system, server, middleware, and tools experts.

The Role
We’re looking for motivated and talented (junior) developers (f/m/d) who want to embark on an exciting journey with us to create innovative, high quality core technology components with care and attention to detail.

Developing software at SAP is more than just writing efficient code - it’s a team effort: starting at product definition and design, including coding, testing, quality assurance, and documenting the results. We follow agile software engineering methods and are always in close contact with our customers and stakeholders to acquire early feedback, and we consume and contribute to Open Source.

Role Requirements
Above all you should have an open mind. We expect you want to learn a lot of new and cool stuff - new technologies, methodologies, and ways to think out-of-the-box. Of course, we’ll fully support you in your work. Our promise to you is that seasoned colleagues will facilitate and support your learning.

During your first 12 months, we offer training courses geared to your individual knowledge and experience, a buddy program, and regular knowledge exchanges with other rookies and seasoned colleagues.

Importantly, we don’t just expect you to learn from us – we want you to share your fresh insights and ideas actively with us as well.

From experience, we know that a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or related fields is a good starting point for your development career at ABAP Platform. Ideally, you should have a technical interest, the ability to simplify complexity, and possess sound analytical and problem-solving skills. A sound understanding of software engineering principles and practices is a strong plus. As part of an interdisciplinary and international team, we build on your communication skills as a team player and your fluency in English and German.
