As the corporate venture capital arm of Deutsche Bahn we invest in relevant start-ups in Mobility, Logistics, Smart City, Big Data and Artificial Intelligence and act as their strategic partner offering access to capital, knowledge and a global network.
We are looking for an intern at the next possible date for at least 3 months in our Venture Capital Unit in Berlin.
Your tasks:
- Research and analyze market and technology trends to identify companies and development that are relevant to our investment hypothesis
- Support in the identification, screening, analysis as well valuation of possible investment regarding their fit to our investment hypothesis by means of technology, business model, financial KPIs, etc
- Support in the preparation and execution of our investment process with specific targets
- Participation in due diligence during an investment process (analysis of Budgets, business plans, employee planning, IP and valuation)
- Drafting company profiles of potential targets as well as extensive presentation as a basis for decision-making for the management board and our Investment Committee
- Monitoring and reporting of our portfolio and their respective markets
- Deep dive in specific topics for internal knowledge database
- Support in internal and external events and development of our network of (C)VC / Startup ecosystem including preparation of presentations
Your profile:
- You at least in your fifth semester in your STEM, business or similar studies
- Ideally you already gained first startup experience or had exposure to the financing process of young technology companies (Venture Capital, Private Equity, Investment Banking, Consulting)
- Enthusiasm and a very high affinity towards digitalization topics in the fields of mobility, logistics and smart city
- Advanced knowledge in the most common MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint)
- Quick comprehension, pronounced analytical thinking as well as high motivation and willingness to learn and perform
- Confident manner as well as independent and responsible work
- Very good command of English and German
