PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
The SAP Core Platform team stands for SAP's technology layer that is used by millions of business people all over the world. In small and agile development teams, we innovate on compilers, virtual machines, higher-level application services, and development environments to make SAP the best-run enterprise software on all supported cloud and on-premises platforms. As a central part of our technology we offer a set of programming languages like ABAP or ABAP CDS that enable developers from SAP, partners or customers to model and develop highly efficient business applications. The documentation of these programming languages, the ABAP Reference Documentation, is an integral part of the respective development environment. If you are interested in contributing substantially to the quality of that documentation then come and join our team.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
We are looking for smart and highly motivated students who want to work besides his or her studies in an inspirational learning and working environment. We offer you a working student contract as a part-time job assignment of a at least six months with an hourly wage. During this time you will work  in our offices with close mentorship by SAP development teams. You will work as an technical editor on the ABAP Reference Documentation, especially on its English translation. Your first task will be to compare the translation with its German original and to correct possible technical errors. The aim is to achieve a comprehensive quality improvement based an your technical knowledge. EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Bachelor/Master student (f/m/d) of computer science, natural science or mathematics
• Programming skills in languages like C++, Java,  ABAP or SQL
• Strong skills and fluency in English and German     
• Strong interest  in writing technical texts and explaining difficult contexts
• Good communication skills     

Your set of application documents should contain a cover letter, a resume in table form, school leaving certificates, certificate of enrollment, current university transcript of records, copies of any academic degrees already earned, and if available, references from former employers (including internships). Please describe as well your experience and skills in foreign languages and computer programs / programming languages.
