PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
SAP Technology Core drives innovation from the heart of SAP. Core Platform consists of 600 people located around the globe, with the majority located in Germany. We are SAP’s technical foundation and proud that our innovations are used by over 12 million people in 120 countries. We are currently looking to hire developers for our technology teams. You can look forward to writing code in C/C++, Java or ABAP that runs in the cloud, on premise, or both. We provide SAP’s core technology platform ranging from compilers and virtual machines to higher level application services and tools. You will have the opportunity to work in small and diverse development teams and collaborate closely with database, operating system, server, middleware, and tools experts.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
We’re looking for motivated, talented developers who want to embark on an exciting journey with us to create innovative, high quality core technology components with care and attention to detail.
Developing software at SAP is more than just writing efficient code - it’s a team effort: starting at product definition and design, including coding, testing, quality assurance, and documenting the results. We follow agile software engineering methods and are always in close contact with our customers and stakeholders to acquire early feedback and we consume and contribute to Open Source.
Education And Qualifications / Skills And Competencies
Above all you should have an open mind. As a (Junior) developer, we expect you to have experience in developing technical application server components, programming environments, database management systems or compilers. You will invest your knowledge in the further development of SAP’s ABAP server and collaborate closely with seasoned colleagues. During your first 12 months in the team, we offer training courses geared to your individual knowledge and experience.
We expect you have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or related fields and have professional experience spanning a few years in the development of server components, development environments, or technical applications.
We also expect you to have sound technical understanding, to grasp complexity easily, and be able to identify solutions efficiently. As part of an interdisciplinary and international team, we build on your communication skills as a team player and your fluency in English and German.
0-2 years of professional experience in the development of technical application server components, programming environments, database management systems or compilers.
The position can be filled as part time position.
