Senior Safety Assessor (f/m/d) in Hamburg

The core of your daily work will be the safety assessment of new raw materials and finished cosmetic products in global and regional projects to release our products to the different markets. For this assessment you might initiate further investigations and studies to ensure that our raw materials, formulations and packaging materials do not pose any risk to our consumers. You’ll also represent Beiersdorf in international expert teams and consortia of relevant associations to defend ingredients and/or support the work on new methods as alternatives to animal testing and other safety related scientific work. Thus you’ll have the great chance to be part of a cross company network to bring in your expertise and learn from others to develop yourself and develop our business for the future. If you have a cosmetics or FMCG background you will find many familiar processes in our organization. You’ll work in a well experienced team of safety assessors and with international business partners from our R&D, Marketing and other functions in international teams, where clear responsibilities, decision making but also pragmatic solution finding is the key for success. Your reporting line is directly to the business management. Accordingly, your income will be on an over proportional level.

You are a certified toxicologist according to European (ERT) or US (DABT) requirements or own a comparable qualification.

You are familiar with the SCCS notes of guidance, general OECD test methods and in silico tox tools and you’re experienced in the safety assessment of raw materials and finished cosmetic products.

If you are qualified like this then you’re the right one we’re looking for to strengthen our Product Safety Team in our headquarters in Hamburg, for our entire cosmetic product portfolio (NIVEA, Eucerin and other cosmetic products).

You really like working with an international team having different interfaces to R&D, Marketing and functions located in Hamburg but also across the globe.
