PAYBACK is the world’s leading multipartner loyalty program. As an international player, we operate in German, Italian, Mexican and Austrian markets. We have a broad range of products, which we plan and implement in the heart of Munich. They cover a wide spectrum, including, but not limited to:
- Mobile App starring PAYBACK Pay, Germany’s #1 mobile payment solution
- Angular based web frontends, which reach millions of customers over payback.de, embedded sections of our partner’s websites and over kiosks our partner’s stores
- Realtime rating engine, which allows us to reward our customers in the blink of an eye

We are a team of more than 20 people that develop, test and maintain the backend of PAYBACK Germany and implement Microservices that work for all PAYBACK markets. We are working in several scrum teams on a daily basis. Our engineers fluently speak Java in a Weblogic and Spring Boot environment, push for test automation, aim for CI/CD and constant improvement. Specialists work on Oracle Siebel, Oracle DB and Angular for internal UI. In addition, we have just started our journey into the Google Cloud.

YOUR TASKS
- Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle
- Write well designed, testable, efficient code
- Ensure designs are in compliance with specifications
- Prepare and produce releases of software components
- Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review
YOUR PROFILE
- Proven hands-on Software Development experience
- Proven working experience in Java development
- Hands on experience in designing and developing applications using Java EE platforms
NICE TO HAVE IS ...
- Object Oriented analysis and design using common design patterns
- Profound insight of Java and JEE internals (Classloading, Memory Management, Transaction management etc.)
- Knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate)
- Experience ...
- in the Spring Framework
- in developing web applications using at least one popular web framework (JSF, Wicket, GWT, Spring MVC)
- with test-driven development
