ABOUT THE TEAM

The Strategic Platform Innovations team develops and validates new ideas for future capabilities, experience, and use cases for the SAP Business Technology Platform. To this end, we develop and evaluate breakthrough platform ideas, technologies, and concepts. The most promising ideas will also be implemented as proof of concepts to demonstrate their technical feasibility. 
Our mission is to future-proof SAP Business Technology Platform by creating novel solutions to current end-to-end development experience challenges and help with kick-starting the development of strategic platform (technology) innovations. 

THE ROLE

We are looking for an enthusiastic UI/UX Design Working Student or Intern in Potsdam or Berlin, who will go the extra mile for users to craft intuitive experiences in close collaboration with developers. As part of our Strategic Platform Innovations Team, you will work on a variety of projects, such as visionary end-user solutions and product redesigns that emphasize the value proposition of the SAP Business Technology Platform. Advised by our senior designers, you will explore various design concepts while sharing your ideas within a multidisciplinary team, both creatively and strategically. You will also have the chance to directly interact with users, stakeholders, and fellow designers to gather meaningful feedback throughout all phases of the design process. Furthermore, you will support the team by creating compelling and simple visualizations for technical presentations. As a team member, you will be part of an inclusive environment in which you can work at the office (Potsdam or Berlin) or from home with a flexible schedule.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in User Experience Design, Interface Design, Interaction Design, or a related field
• Solid understanding of the design process and related methodologies: Design Thinking, User Research, Usability Testing, and Prototyping in all kinds of fidelities.
• Passion for translating complex problems into elegant and user-friendly solutions by following UX/UI Design principles
• Proficient in at least one design tool, such as Figma, Sketch, Mural, Miro, and Adobe CC 
• A great eye for detail, especially when it comes to UI and Visual Design
• Excellent communication skills in English and preferably German: Motivated to articulate and communicate ideas and design decisions well to interdisciplinary project teams
• Soft skills: Reliable, positive, open-minded personality with strong team working skills, who is committed to managing deadlines independently and precisely
• Familiarity with agile software development is a plus

Your set of application documents should also include a certificate of enrollment, current university transcript of records, and copies of any academic degrees already earned.
