Your Future Role

You will become a member of a Purchase Order Scrum team and will follow Agile development principals in your everyday work. Your work will run in close collaboration with peers from several S/4HANA product areas; your task will be to implement several sustainability and carbon footprint KPIs and make them part of our vastly used products S/4HANA and S/4HANA Cloud. You will engage with pilot customers and get a unique opportunity to learn about end-to-end supply chain processes as defined in industry leading global companies.

You will work in an innovative environment and be part of a highly motivated team. Your responsibility as associate developer will be covering all stages and tasks within the entire development cycle:

• Work in a development team on designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining complex software and apply agile software development principles
• Evaluate customer requirements and explore new options based on S/4 HANA to deliver on customers’ expectations
• Work in an agile development environment which requires the individual to be self-driven, take decisions and be flexible
• Handle your tasks with enthusiasm and personal commitment as you must have the ambition to build  future-ready sustainable products with state of the art technologies.

Your Profile

• Bachelor or master’s degree in computer science, Business Engineering or a related discipline
• Proven track of hands-on software development experience in Java Script or Java or ABAP
• Knowledge about test-driven development principles and unit test concepts
• Fluent language skills in German and English (both verbal and written)
• Experience with Agile Development Methodology and Agile Software Engineering
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to work conceptually
• Ability to handle changing priorities with sound diplomatic and negotiation skills

In S/4HANA we are combining a modern and simplified Enterprise Management developed on SAP HANA with SAP Business Solutions (Ariba, Fieldglass, etc.) and Business Networks. As part of the strategy to optimize and enable businesses to run better, SAP looks to embed sustainability as a new dimension of success into analytical and transactional applications in S/4HANA. 

S/4HANA Procurement delivers awesome innovations to procurement professionals via the cloud, from mobile self-services for enterprise shoppers, order and invoice processing to intelligent decision support using machine learning and request for quotation processes using blockchains. Now we look to drive focused sustainability initiatives through Source-to-Pay helping our customers deliver impact and achieve sustainability goals.

S/4HANA Procurement Engineering team puts a special focus on sustainability and carbon footprint reduction in the software development across all procurement business processes - especially in the context of the operational procurement process. To boost this process our purchase order development team in Walldorf is looking for a motivated developer – eager to convert global climate goals into real software code to make them achievable for our customers and their supply chains.
