ABOUT THE TEAM

SAP HANA Cloud serves as a cloud-native portfolio of database offerings and SAP HANA Cloud Infrastructure (our DevOps team) is developing and running its cutting-edge Kubernetes based infrastructure on the major cloud providers.

We enjoy pushing beyond the limits of what’s currently possible, which also requires close collaboration with our cloud technology partners. We are using state-of-the-art technologies.
 
THE ROLE

As a (Junior) Developer and Cloud Engineer you will join an agile team of 4 to 6 team members and share with them responsibility for 1 or more microservices. Our teams are empowered and self-organizing. You will contribute to, for example, landscape deployment on different hyperscalers, providing monitoring/observability, enhancing our CI/CD pipeline or the availability, scalability, and reliability of our services. You will participate in the design, implementation, and high-quality delivery of the solution. You may have to react on incidents and their root cause analysis.
 
ROLE REQUIREMENTS

You will need:
•    Very good degree in computer science, informatics, business informatics or related areas
•    Initial experience with Kubernetes (especially patterns, custom resources, networking), Prometheus, Docker, Git, Jenkins
•    Initial experience with the cloud offerings of the major hyperscalers and their cloud infrastructure
•    Initial experience with cloud-native software development 
•    To be comfortable in one programming language preferably Python, Golang or Groovy 
•    Very good language skills in English

We are looking for a very good team player with extraordinary soft skills. Initial experience in other programming languages is a plus.
