WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

This strategic leadership position is a pivotal role focusing mainly on the successful delivery of the critical Next Generation Combat Vehicle/Optionally Manned Fighting Vehicle (NGCV/OMFV) program. This role is responsible for the identification and management of suppliers via relevant policy and procedure implementation, market analysis and supplier relationship management. It will ensure close alignment with the relevant stakeholders and the Senior VP Procurement in the parent companies.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Lead a team by example, ensuring adherence to all agreed process and operating procedures in future. • Develop the organizational structure within the US VSD team to promote clear responsibilities and provide opportunities for team members to succeed in their roles. 
  • Recruit required personnel in cooperation with HR in a timely manner. 
  • Manage relationships with all stakeholders to ensure performance is optimized and be able to manage the political dimensions associated with a high profile program. 
  • Support and adhere to all company safety , compliance and environmental regulations & policies. 
  • Continuous Improvement of processes/efficiencies
  • Develop and implement Procurement policy and strategy 
  • Ensure alignment with global Rh procurement processes and guidelines
  • Researching and identification of new suppliers; 
  • Ensure that procurement activities are achieved within assigned budgets, timeline and quality; • Ensure the incorporation of central procurement strategy by keeping close alignement with Strategic Purchasing in HQ. • Control and deliver a large scale project, including financial expenditures.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time. Occasional travel to Europe may be required. 
  • Undertake other duties as directed by the General Manager VSD or his/her delegate.

Job Requirements:

Education: 

  • BSc in , Business Administration or Economics, Vehicle Technology, Management , Mechanical Engineering • MSc in Mechanical Engineering, , Vehicle Technology, Management, Systems Engineering
  • Business Administration or Economics Experience:

Experience: 

  • Extensive expertise (5- 10 years) as a senior procurement professional in a complex commercial and Vehicle environment; 
  • Experience in commercial project delivery within a highly regulated environment will be advantageous • High level communication and influencing skills and the ability to lead discussions and negotiate complex commercial outcomes with a strong executive presence
  • Experience with working in a multi-national, multi-organizational and corporate environment. • Knowledge of the US DoD process and procedures for vehicle development and procurement. 
  • Familiarity with the US Army TACOM / TARDEC is desirable 
  • Practical ‘hands on’ attitude with the ability to operate independently.
  • Experience with capture, bid contract negotiations, and delivery planning. 
  • Currently holds or has the ability to obtain US Defense clearance is desirable
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering and vehicle principles.
  • Knowledge of Military Standards and regulations.
  • Knowledge in Systems Engineering and related standards/ processes
  • Ability to speak German is desirable
  • Physical Requirements: 

    Ability to sit for extended periods of time.

    Ability to do extensive keyboarding.

    Ability to lift 25 lbs.
