Develop and Implement a Global Labor & Human Rights Program, incl. policies, risk assessment tools, training material and audit program

For our Fresenius Medical Care global program on Human Rights / Workplace Rights, we are looking for a candidate with a law degree or an economics/social sciences degree with strong legal background. The role will be based in our headquarters in Bad Homburg v. d. Höhe, Germany. In your role, you support our Global Organization in the further development, and implementation of our Sustainability Program, in particular the Global Human Rights/ Workplace Rights Initiative.

  • Conducting human rights impact assessments, develop and draft policies and strategies, deploy training, and engage stakeholders and rights-holders in the area of labor rights / human rights
  • Working directly with the leadership of the Labor/Human Rights Program, as well as with an internal cross-functional team to build and support key components of the Program
  • Collaborate with all regions, business units and functions to address systemic sustainability challenges and find solutions that work within a complex organization
  • Working within the legal team and the HR team to serve as point of contact for human rights risk analysis of business decisions and support efforts to advise legal and business leaders on human rights matters impacting the business
  • Assisting in review of processes and procedures to develop strategies to mitigate risk
  • Develop and execute an employee human rights training program
  • Develop and support in employee human rights audit program for the organization
  • Conducting research and writing background reports for Human Rights Impact Assessments
  • Coordinating efforts to share information about Labor/Human Rights initiative with external audiences – cooperation with the IR team
  • Academic degree in Law, with focus on Human Rights/Labor Rights or Labor Law and/or an Academic degree in Corporate Social responsibility
  • Several years of work experience in a CSR / human rights initiative in a global corporation, and experience both in policy drafting and establishing a training program
  • Excellent in verbal and written communication
  • Strong communication skills to deliver complex messages clearly
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong intercultural skills
  • Understanding of complex organizational dynamics
  • Strong process oriented, structured and conscientious working method
  • Background in project management and change management beneficial
  • Strong service attitude, ability to handle various tasks simultaneously, professionalism, strong team player, self-motivating
  • Used to work independently as well as with cross functional teams
  • Strong policy drafting skills and the ability to translate complex issues into plain language
  • Analytical, detail oriented, pragmatic approach
  • Applying expertise to solve challenging problems while exercising solid judgment and streamlining processes
