What you can expect

The unit Application Engineering is the technical interface between BASF Automotive Catalyst and the Car Manufacturer. It is therefore the strategic technical link between our customers and Marketing as well as R&D and the Production.

  • You will lead customer projects to support BASF customized technology developments.
  • Furthermore, you will select catalyst technology out of our product portfolio in alignment with customer needs.
  • You will initiate and plan the evaluation programs based on customer time. lines and in close cooperation with internal functions like R&D and QA.
  • You will be responsible for performing the experiments and data processing by using state of the art software tools.
  • You will summarize your results in presentation format and discuss your findings with the relevant departments.
  • Last but not least, you will initiate and perform the analysis of catalytic converters and create reports to document your findings.
What we expect

  • You have a degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or mechanical engineering.
  • As a mechanical engineer, you ideally have acquired experience in the field of emission control (engine development or calibration), powertrain technology, combustion engines and / or catalyst development.
  • You are fluent in English and German. Advanced knowledge of French language skills is a plus.
  • In addition, you have excellent communication skills and you are familiar with inspiring others about the outcome of your work.
  • You enjoy working as part of a team and you impress others with your confidence and efficiency.
  • You have advanced knowledge of data processing tools (e.g. MS Excel, Origin, Matlab) and presentation tools (MS Power Point).
