PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
SAP Global Security (SGS) is the central organization responsible for various security aspects of the company such as ensuring Secure Development, Secure Operations, Physical Security and Security Culture. Within SGS, the Secure Development organization is responsible for ensuring that all SAP products shipped to the customer follow a Secure Software Development Lifecycle. Within Secure Development organization, the Security Testing and Validation team is responsible for defining and driving secure development and testing strategy for SAP’s products, offering central tools and services and validating SAP products as independent first customers.
The Open Source Software Security project is a project with the objective of providing tools and services to inform development organizations on publicly known vulnerabilities in their open source components. The team’s current responsibilities include developing an SAP internal tool called Software Vulnerability Monitor, hosting tools form external vendors, and maintaining relationships with the tool vendors.
Note: We seek to hire full time interns or part-time working students. We are not able to offer thesis topics.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
As one of the member of the Open Source Security project team, you will be responsible for
- developing the internal tool Software Vulnerability Monitor (SVM) to assist development organizations to assess vulnerabilities in their OSS components
- integrating SVM with external security tools such as SourceClear and Protecode to scan open source software
- consulting development organizations to enable them to use these tools for their technologies and development landscapes
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Student (f/m/d) at a university or a university of applied sciences
- Preferred fields of study: Computer Science or related fields
- Computer skills: Experience working with at least one of the JavaScript frameworks (SAPUI5, Angular JS, React, Vue.js etc.)
- Language skills: English, German
- Soft skills: basic communication skills to report on progress and roadblocks in daily scrum meeting
WORK EXPERIENCE
6 months - 1 Experience of experience working on a full stack web application development project
Your set of application documents should contain a cover letter, a resume in table form, school leaving certificates, certificate of enrollment, current university transcript of records, copies of any academic degrees already earned, and if available, references from former employers (including internships). Please describe as well your experience and skills in foreign languages and computer programs / programming languages.
