PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

At Venture Studio, we're transforming the way that SAP builds new businesses. We do this by building great products with an insanely great team. We're looking for a (Associate) Product Designer to join , our next generation work management platform, and one of SAP.iO's incubations. 

The Opportunity

Ruum is SAP’s next generation work management platform. We are the flagship product of the  Venture Studio, an Incubation Unit within SAP, the world market leader in Enterprise Software and Germany’s most valuable company. We’re a 20 people team, lean and laser-focused, with a big vision: Simplifying teamwork for a billion users across the globe. We’ve grown our product to users from more than 2.000 companies in the last year, and we received €10 Mio funding from SAP. Become part of a team of designers passionate about solving some of the biggest issues in modern teamwork. As a (Associate) Product Designer at Ruum, you will be involved in every step of the product development process, from research over brainstorming the next big product innovation to tweaking pixels before releases. You will be expected to utilize the full range of your product design, interaction design, and visual design skills, and you will get the chance to own the experience of a wide range of features. 

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

• Take broad, conceptual ideas and turn them into something useful and valuable for users.
• Craft user flows and experiences that are incredibly simple, smart and elegant.
• Utilize the full range of your product design, interaction design, and visual design skills, and you will get the chance to own the experience of a wide range of features.
• Contribute to high-level strategic decisions.
• Give and solicit feedback from other designers in order to continually raise our bar for quality.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, engineers, researchers and our go to market team to oversee the user experience from conception until launch

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES 

Required skills

• Experience in building and shipping applications or software.
• Basic knowledge of front-end programming principles.
• Portfolio with examples of interaction design work that highlights your contribution to presented solutions (URL).
• Proven experience with end-to-end (UX and UI) product design processes.
• You\’re a self-starter who actively seeks ways to improve both, our product and the way we tackle problems.
• BS/BA in a related field. 

Preferred skills

• 2+ years of application or software design experience.
• 2+ years of visual design experience.
• 2+ years of interaction design experience.
• Experience designing for users in work/collaboration context.
• MS/MA in a related field. 

WORK EXPERIENCE

• 2+ years experience in design roles.
