PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
Situation Services as part of SAP S/4HANA Cloud Foundation develops Situation Handling across applications for SAP S/4HANA: Situation Handling enables a pro-active system that directly presents issues requiring attention to the user. Important issues are dynamically displayed in the corresponding app and urgent issues are surfaced via the notification framework. Data tracking and advanced analysis steps further support efficient and simplified handling of business tasks.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
As a student contributor (f/m/d), you will be part of an agile team that builds next generation services and applications. Our smart and situation-aware services and applications guide and support users focusing on data and functionality that is relevant in their current situation. You will support the development of services and help to explore new concepts and ideas to leverage users’ work and process contexts, including user recommendations and automation of tasks.
Depending on your skill set, you will develop with ABAP and additional business frameworks in the S/4HANA system, advanced database technology (based on SQL) and RESTful service exposure for reuse and consumption in the UI.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Required skills

• Student (f/m/d) at a university or a university of applied sciences
• You are studying computer science (or a related field) with an above-average degree (ideally you have already completed your Bachelor’s degree)
• You have strong object oriented programming skills in Java or ABAP
• You have basic software engineering skills, including basic understanding for software lifecycles, testing and agile development methods. 
• Cloud and machine learning skills are a plus
• You have strong analytical and problem solving skills, and you are comfortable with trying out new technologies 
• You are fluent in German (spoken and written) and have a solid command of English 
• You are self-motivated, team-oriented worker, comfortable with being part of an agile team

Preferred skills

• You have knowledge in business rules management frameworks, e.g. BRF+
• You are experienced with SAP development environments, e.g. Eclipse

Your set of application documents should contain a cover letter, a resume in table form, school leaving certificates, current university transcript of records, certificate of enrolment, copies of any academic degrees already earned, and if available, references from former employers (including internships). Please describe as well your experience and skills in foreign languages and computer programs/ programming languages.
