Jobbeschreibung

Ihre Aufgaben

The progress in the field of Materials Science has driven the innovation and advancement of many technology fields in the last years. Thus we are convinced that Materials Science is also for cosmetics a potential field of innovation for future cosmetics and new-to-the-world application forms. Cosmetic formulas consist of different materials with unique functions used for a variety of different technologies (emulsion, gels, solutions etc.) hence offering a wide field for innovation. Even though the basic principles and some properties of the technologies we evaluate are described in literature, barely no knowledge exists on their applicability to cosmetic formulas and what could be a consumer relevant benefit. The project comprises a balance of experimental work in order to generate knowledge using an array of analytical techniques to characterize different properties and provide explanations for the observed phenomena. The experimental work will mainly focus on materials synthesis and surface modifications; formula development and characterization.

The master student will:

  • Work closely with a Research Scientist on a subtopic of a project involving evaluation and transfer of Materials Science based concept or technology for cosmetics
  • Perform experimental work to build knowledge and understanding about the technology and the transferability to cosmetic formulae
  • Propose, coordinate and interpret results from analytical characterization techniques.
  • Analyse the obtained results and compare them critically to studies published in scientific journals.
  • Interact with different teams inside the company, discuss and share the findings with research scientists.
Ihr Profil
  • Student of natural sciences, preferably chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, materials engineering, physics, biotechnology or similar field.
  • Experiences in lab work, hands-on research and materials synthesis would be highly Advantages.
  • Highly motivated with a curious mindset, proactive, flexible and a passion for research.
  • Ability to work autonomously and in an international team.
  • Very good level of spoken and written English.
  • Can handle standard Microsoft Office Tools e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point
